Read through the information below about the hardware used for connecting to the Internet
Dialup modem - a slow old fashioned modem which dials up the number to your internet service provider and calls them to make a connection using your logon details.
Broadband modem - fast, always on internet connections which allow us to surf the internet quickly and download content or watch live content.
Router - a device which allows a "network" connection to the internet, allows several computers to share the connection, commonly these are wireless devices
Hubs - devices used to join computers in a network to allow them to share files and an internet connection
Network Interface Card - Used to connect a computer to the network by running a cable between the two, included as part of the motherboard on a laptop, connected to the motherboard on a PC
SIM card - SIM cards can be used to connect a device wirelessly to the internet using a mobile provider
WIFI Dongle - similar to a SIM card except you plug it into a USB port to connect to the internet via a mobile provider

The list below gives information about different kinds of user interface
Command Line interface - users have to type in a series of commands, this is hard to use as you need to learn the correct commands
Menu Driven interface - users make choices from a series of menus
Graphical User Interface (GUI) - users make selections by pointing and clicking on a screen, regardless of the operating system used these are WIMP systems using windows, icons, menus and pointers.
Direct neutral interface - A connection between a brain and device, used to provide a person with sight, hearing or movement (cochlear implants for the hearing impaired are an example of these)
Voice driven interface - Allows the user to control the device by issuing spoken commands or entering spoken data
